Supporting Mental Health ProfessionalsIf you are a mental health professional, you already know that seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness. You encourage your clients to ask for help, prioritize their well-being, and recognize that no one should have to navigate life's challenges alone. Yet many clinicians find it surprisingly difficult to extend that same grace to themselves.
Whether it's because of concerns about stigma within the profession, the expectation that you should "have it all together," uncertainty about being the client instead of the therapist, or simply spending so much time caring for others that your own needs become secondary, many mental health professionals quietly carry burdens they rarely discuss. At I AM MOORE, LLC, we understand that those who dedicate their lives to supporting others also deserve a space where they can simply be human. Whether you are an experienced clinician, graduate trainee, supervisor, behavioral health leader, or educator, therapy offers an opportunity to step outside of your professional role, process your own experiences, strengthen resilience, and invest in your personal well-being. Seeking therapy is not about becoming a better therapist—it is about recognizing that you are a person first. Caring for yourself is not separate from caring for others; it is an essential part of sustaining a healthy, meaningful, and fulfilling life. |

Our Approach
Entering therapy as a mental health professional can feel different than recommending it to your clients. You may wonder if you'll be expected to "talk like a therapist," analyze your own experiences, or explain concepts you already understand. Our goal is just the opposite.
We strive to create a space where you do not have to be the expert, manage the conversation, or have the answers. You are welcome to bring your clinical knowledge into the room when it is helpful, but you are never expected to remain in the role of therapist. Instead, we focus on you as a person, not simply as a professional.
Our work is grounded in a collaborative, relational, and culturally responsive approach that is tailored to your unique needs rather than a rigid adherence to any single therapeutic model. We integrate evidence-based interventions when appropriate while recognizing that meaningful therapy is built on authenticity, trust, curiosity, and a strong therapeutic relationship. Together, we create a space where you can slow down, reflect, process your experiences, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that exist beyond your professional identity.
Meet the Therapists
Choosing a therapist can feel different when you are a mental health professional. You are not only looking for someone with clinical expertise, you are looking for someone who understands the unique responsibilities, emotional demands, and professional culture of behavioral healthcare. While each of our therapists brings distinct experiences and clinical interests, we share a commitment to providing thoughtful, culturally responsive, and evidence-informed care in a space where you can set aside your professional role and focus on yourself.
Darren D. Moore, PhD, MPH, MAEd, LMFT
As both a licensed marriage and family therapist and an educator, Dr. Moore understands the unique realities of working in the mental health profession. Throughout his career, he has provided therapy, supervised clinicians-in-training, taught graduate students, consulted with organizations, and served in leadership roles within higher education and behavioral health. These experiences have given him firsthand insight into the emotional demands, professional responsibilities, and complexities that clinicians often navigate behind the scenes.
Dr. Moore works collaboratively with mental health professionals seeking a confidential space to process the personal impact of their work, strengthen relationships, navigate burnout and compassion fatigue, explore questions of professional identity, and reconnect with themselves outside of the therapist role. His approach is warm, thoughtful, culturally responsive, and tailored to each individual's unique experiences and goals. Dr. Moore may be a good fit if you are seeking support for:
