About MOORE
Darren D. Moore, Ph.D., MPH, MAED, LMFT, AAMFT Approved Supervisor has been in the mental health field for over 18 years. He started his career as a support specialist in an intermediate care facility for dual diagnosed clients (ICF-MR/Waivered Services program) and then worked his way up through the ranks in the field as a leader in the industry through education, obtaining thousands of hours of direct clinical experience, teaching in the university system, supervising therapists and medical students, and conducting scholarly research. Dr. Moore received his B.A. in African American Studies from the University of Minnesota, his M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University, his Ph.D. in Human Development: Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech. After obtaining the doctorate, Dr. Moore also completed a Masters in Higher and Postsecondary Education, from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Masters in Public Health, from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard University. Dr. Moore has also completed additional post-doctoral training in Sleep and behavioral health as well as Health Disparities at New York University School of Medicine and the University of North Texas-Health Sciences Center. Dr. Moore also received a Certificate in Leadership through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Moore's passion is to help others improve their health, mental health, and relationships. He does this by teaching others how to dismantle depression, fight against obesity, obliterate conflict, and focus on overcoming pitfalls, roadblocks, and barriers that may weigh a person down.
Dr. Moore obtained an additional Masters in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Dr. Moore is the consummate professional and has been quite involved in his field as an educator having taught students in undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and medical school programs in-person, in Georgia and California, and nationally and internationally through hybrid and distanced based educational programs. Dr. Moore has served in leadership positions, serving on various state and national boards related to mental health as well as serving as a leader in academic institutions. Dr. Moore’s work can be found in scholarly peer-reviewed journals (many funded by grants) as well as in his commentary in local, national, and international press including but not limited to (Traditional Print, Internet, Radio, and television), such as YAHOO Health, FoxNews, New York Post, Essence Magazine, Black Enterprise, U.S.News, Men'sHealth, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, NEWSWEEK, among others. He has been a regular guest expert on The Dee Armstrong Show, (NBC-WLTZ38) appearing over 50 times, which aired in select Georgia and Alabama markets, and has contributed to a variety of other programs airing on NBC, CW, CBS, ABC, and FOX television networks across various states.
