Clinical Approach
Katie utilizes an integrative therapeutic approach when working with clients. She often combines elements of Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Feminist informed Therapy. Katie is kind and relational, but she is also firm and holds clients accountable to help clients achieve their goals. Katie insists that her clients work through complex trauma, negative thoughts, and maladaptive behaviors. Her goal is to help clients alleviate stress from the past, take ownership of their future, and achieve self-actualization. As a military spouse and mother herself, Katie is familiar with the military lifestyle: the constant PCS’ing (moving) and starting over in new locations, being separated from your spouse due to trainings/deployments, unable to live nearby family for additional support and so much more. The military lifestyle brings a lot of uncertainties and stress, and Katie is passionate about providing a stable and safe place for military service members and their family. Katie will provide a supportive environment- free of judgement, while also providing honesty and validation for these experiences. Katie has worked with diverse clients from all walks of life and is equipped to help you address your mental health and relational concerns. Katie Ross is currently a Therapy Resident in the practice. She is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, is working towards her full clinical license, and is completing her post-graduate clinical hours in the practice.
